97 POINTS: 2021 Woodshed Chardonnay
“Fruit from Thirsty Boots and Hopewell vineyards… yield a smooth, silky Chardonnay which coats the palate with a mix of orchard fruits accented with buttered nuts, lemon curd and wildflower honey. Complex and textured, this benefits also from the extra years of bottle age, placing it in a prime drinking window. I swear it lingers on the palate for five minutes or more… it should drink well anywhere from five to fifteen more years. Then again why wait when it’s this good right now?” —Paul Gregutt, March 2026
97 Points: 2019 Woodshed Vineyard Old Vine Pinot Noir
“This is made from 1978 plantings of own-rooted Pommard – history in a bottle. As rare and vanishing as vines from the ‘70s are it’s a joy to see that so many boutique wineries are finding them, doing the hard work of keeping them vital, and producing wines such as this. Texture, detail, elegance and depth are the hallmarks of such wines, all in play here. Brambly berry, citrus and stone, accents too subtle to pin down… all here. Wines such as this are treasures. They will continue to evolve, probably over decades.” —Paul Gregutt, March 2026
97 Points: 2021 Woodshed Vineyard Old Vine Pinot Noir
“This is a new release of 1978 plantings of own-rooted Pommard. Still quite young, it’s got a lush, full-throated, full-palate flavor. I mean it’s loaded – blackberries, black cherries, chocolate and chicken broth, with accents of tobacco and mushroom. It blossoms in the mid-palate before tightening down through a lingering finish. Long, deep, dense and dark, this is a fascinating wine with a powerful future…” —Paul Gregutt, March 2026
