Making a Zine

We wanted to do something special for our Woodshed Wine Company allocation members who will be receiving the spring allocation this month. Those who are Woodshed allocated are in for a real treat: A zine! We knew we wanted to write and distribute one, and we thought we should go to the experts. We consulted with friends and searched around Portland and found the perfect spot- Outlet PDX. Over a few months, Lindsay attended Crit Night where she learned about what other people that are keen on zines thought about her first draft. It was a really cool and positive experience. She took all of the advice and went to another workshop at Outlet PDX- this time their Riso Basics Class. She learned about the incredible risograph, which is how Outlet PDX prints their zines. They have 4 risos at their workshop and they all have names- Barbara, Corita, Janet and Lil’ Tina. At the end of the class, she swapped riso prints with her classmates and went home with a full bag of original artwork from her new friends. She is excited to print the zine for The Woodshed Wine Company allocation list at Outlet next week! Stay tuned!!!

And thanks in advance to everyone at Outlet PDX- Leland, Michael and Kate- who have spent endless amounts of time educating Lindsay about zines. You are all magical!
